Methods and tools

  • Red-legged salamander skin AMPs: Looks for antimicrobial peptides in red-legged salamander skin secretions, where amphibian work has concentrated on frogs and toads and salamander secretions are barely characterised. nanoLC-MS/MS with PEAKS de novo sequencing found 135 unique peptides across four injections, of which CAMP-R3 and AMP Scanner predicted 36 to be antimicrobial.
